Join us for The Fifth Annual
Twin Cities Kirtan Fest
Featuring International Kirtan Leader, Dave Stringer!
Saturday, March 8th
Solomon’s Porch; 100 West 46th Street; Minneapolis 55419
The Fifth Annual Twin Cities Kirtan Fest is an opportunity to raise your voice in joyful song with the talented yoga and kirtan community in Minnesota.
This joyous community event is a celebration of Sanskrit participatory music, or Kirtan. Kirtan is a form of bhakti yoga; the yoga of devotion. The music connects participants with their hearts and spirits, and evokes feelings of bliss.
This year’s festival features internationally touring musician, Dave Stringer; Dave Stringer has been profiled as one of the most innovative artists of the new Kirtan movement in publications all over the world. His sound marries the transcendent mysticism of traditional Indian instruments with the exuberant, groove-oriented sensibility of American gospel (www.davestringer.com).
There are also a host of bands each with their own unique sound, to bring kirtan lovers as well as those new to kirtan, a broad range of what our Midwest scene has to offer. The festival includes Minneapolis veteran bands, Sitara & Kalyani with Pavan Kumar, Kirtan Path, Om Bolo!, and Mahajapa. Ticket prices for the whole event are $40 in advance; $45 at the door, and $25 in advance and $30 at the door, for "evening only" passes. The "evening" begins at 6:30 p.m. Advance sales are highly encouraged as space is limited.
